Who is Moth Mother?

I'm Theresa Jean Tanenbaum (or "Tess"): a neuroqueer, transgender, disabled, polyamorous musician, composer, songwriter, producer, poet, and podcaster located in Central Illinois. I release my music online under the name of Moth Mother.

I've been making music for over 30 years, and working professionally as a composer, musician, sound engineer, and performer since 2002 (although for a portion of that time my musical practice was in service of my academic career as a leading scholar and designer of interactive digital storytelling systems and games) .

What is Moth Mother Studios?

Moth Mother Studios is an 800+ sq/ft. studio in the Midwest, less than 15 minutes outside of Peoria, Illinois. It has been under construction for the last two years, and is finally up and running and ready to take on clients.
