We are all surviving the horrors right now. The music in this album has kept me alive in a moment when everything feels like it is closing in. These songs are a cognitive architecture - an experimental alchemy of synesthesia - that I want to climb around inside of. The music in this album is me metabolizing the knowledge of what has happened to the most vulnerable of us, what is currently happening, and what I can see on the horizon. It's my attempt to seek beauty and peace in the midst of a maelstrom of cruelty and fear.

The tracks are long. That's how I needed them to be.
They're hard to categorize. That's inevitable.

I think they're some of the most beautiful music I've ever written, and that's good, because I'm the target audience for this one. But if you're like me: queer, trans, disabled, neurodivergent, othered, outsidered, frightened, hopeful, seeking release, trying to hold on through it all, then maybe you are the target audience too?

Étude of the Storm is a historical fantasy audio drama podcast set in 18th century Norway – in the twilight of gods and the old ways. A harrowing and heartrending journey woven through a tapestry of Norse mythology, transgender pagan magick, and the powerful improvised audio drama storytelling that Omniverse is known for.

As the co-creator I have been involved in this project from the start. I voice Elea Torillsdótter, the central character. I am also composing a full original score for the show.
