Scoring for Film, Television, Podcasts, & Games

I have been writing music for games, films, and podcasts professionally since 2004 and have extensive experience scoring across a wide range of genres and styles. I can create standalone tracks, full soundtrack albums (with recurrent motifs and sonic themes tied to your narrative elements) and am also happy to score directly to an edit.

Songwriting, Lyrics, Theme Songs, and Jingles

If I can write a musical (and I have!) then I can write your next theme song or commercial jingle! I'm well versed in the fine art of the hook and the way of the earworm! Because I work fluidly across genres I can tailor a track to you specific needs by either dialing in a specific vibe and feeling, or by blending genres to create sounds that are fresh and catchy!

Mix Doctoring, Production, and Arrangement

My facilities, tools, and extensive experience allow me to hear problems in your mix that you probably won't. And my background as a composer and songwriter across many genres has given me a unique perspective and aesthetic that I can use to elevate your tracks to new heights. I love collaborating with artists to help then find a signature sound for their album.

Vocal and Musical Recording

While live sound isn't the primary focus of Moth Mother Studios, I am equipped to record vocalists, voice actors, and audiobook narrators, as well as small musical combos. Because this isn't my main expertise, if you are a band making an album, I will probably refer to my friend and collaborator Tony SanFillipo at Oxide Lounge in Bloomington, who is far more experienced with that type of engineering and production.

Audiobook Production, Sound Design, and Narrative Sound Editing

My background in interactive storytelling, game audio, and actual play audiodrama creation has equipped me to provide cinematic sound design, spatial audio, and narrative sound editing for books and audiodramas. If I cannot record the narration myself, my network of skilled voice actors are available and I will work with you to cast exactly the right voice for your project.

My mission at Moth Mother Studios is to elevate the voices of other marginalized artists, especially folks in the queer community. I provide deep discounts, and alternate payment options (such as skill swaps, facility exchanges, etc.) as a form of mutual aid and solidarity to creators who might otherwise not be able access my facilities and expertise.
